Arriving in Fort Collins

Posted on 11:00 AM by paritory

Dear friends,

For my adventure, I went to visit Alex's Aunt Sheri and Uncle Randy in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Here are some pictures from my trip.  (You can click on them to make them bigger and then close them by clicking on the X in the upper right corner.)

Fort Collins is near Denver and in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  It's almost a mile above sea level!  The air is much thinner than it is in Kansas.  It takes a few days for most people to get used to it.   Fortunately, it didn't bother me.  That is probably because I'm flat.  The thin air was perfect for my thin lungs.  :-)

Even though it was 85 degrees outside, you could still see lots of snow on Long's Peak.  The mountain looks close, but it is over 30 miles away and is over two and a half miles high!
